Located in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, Hotel Neri is a stylish boutique option partly housed within a historic medieval palace. Entering the property from the narrow street outside, you are greeted with an atmospheric, vaulted, stone lobby complete with an original medieval staircase and wood-panel ceiling. The decor, though, is bright, contemporary and stylish, tempering the heavy historical features and creating a warm and inviting space. The artful mix of the historic and the modern continues throughout the property with bright rugs lining the floors and chic modern tapestries and art works on the walls.
There are just 22 rooms and each has been carefully crafted to create an elegant and intimate space with bright white walls and understated furnishings. The bathrooms, which are lined with natural stone, attractively mirror the historic stone features of the rest of the property.
To the front of the hotel, the stylish, ground-floor breakfast room opens out onto one of Barcelona’s hidden Gothic squares and provides relaxing outdoor seating at weekends. Alternatively, you can opt to relax on the hotel’s vine-covered rooftop terrace and enjoy a quiet sunset drink.
Perfectly capturing the history and romance of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, we love the relaxed style of the Hotel Neri and can highly recommend the food and service.

Rooms
Each room at the Hotel Neri has been carefully styled to create a calm and relaxing space. On what would have been the noble floor of the palace the rooms have towering ceilings and are particularly airy and spacious. For those looking for something special, the Deluxe rooms with their own terrace are highly recommended as they feature their own private outdoor space complete with a bathtub.
Location
Tucked down a narrow alleyway, just steps from Barcelona’s central cathedral, the Hotel Neri is located in the labyrinthine heart of the city’s Gothic Quarter. Just outside, you’ll find attractive Plaça Sant Felip Neri, while a walk of around five minutes will bring you to the busy La Rambla thoroughfare. The Plaça da Catalunya and the beginning of L’Eixample can be reached in around 15 minutes on foot.
Food and drink
Breakfast is served each morning in the restaurant overlooking the square. Rather than a traditional buffet, each table is given its own platter of fruit, bread and pastries to share while hot dishes such as eggs and quiche, along with meats and cheeses, can be ordered to the table. The restaurant’s à la carte lunch and dinner menu also focuses on serving food family-style to the table for you to share as you would in a traditional Spanish home.
