Vil Uyana is a luxurious place to stay in a fantastic wild location, offering accommodation in comfortable stilted wooden dwellings scattered across the gardens, paddy fields, forest and over water.
Inspired by the habitats created at the WWT London Wetland Centre, the property is surrounded by nature, with the reedbeds, forest and man-made lake attracting an array of wildlife. It has a modern Thai/Balinese feel, with an emphasis on open spaces, and with your own private deck you can sit out and take in your surroundings in peace.
The hotel's restaurant overlooks the large communal pool, serving both Eastern and Western dishes.
This is a popular choice and receives fantastic feedback thanks to its prime position and charming stilted accommodation. It makes a luxurious base from which to explore Sri Lanka's fascinating cultural region, while its beautiful natural surroundings make it ideal for wildlife enthusiasts.

Rooms
The resort has four different room categories, all of which combine a traditional rustic style with modern amenities such as individually-controlled air conditioning, satellite TVs, minibars, hair dryers and electronic safes. The en suite bathrooms are modern, with large baths, and each dwelling has its own balcony on which you can dine, sunbathe and look out for wildlife.
The split-level Paddy/Marsh Dwellings are on stilts set among the paddy fields or marshland, with some boasting private plunge pools. The stilted Water Dwellings are also split-level and have been constructed over the lake for wonderful views, while the Forest Dwellings are duplex and have their own plunge pools. There are also a handful of Garden Dwellings, which are on one level surrounded by trees and nature, making them perfect for wildlife enthusiasts.
