The Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic combines Belle Époque grandeur with modern comfort on the banks of Lake Geneva, making it a great base for exploring the Montreux Riviera.
The façade, with its white stonework, wrought-iron balconies, yellow shutters and classic lettered rooftop sign, has been preserved. The cool interior has been renovated into a modern temple to natural light, with pale and neutral tones, high-arched ceilings, recessed lighting and enormous windows creating an open and airy feeling throughout the hotel.
One of Montreux’s largest hotels, with 155 rooms and suites, it nonetheless creates an atmosphere of individual attention and relaxation.
The hotel’s restaurant, Le 45, offers a healthful international menu and a terrace with panoramic views of the lake and the Alps.
Set between Lake Geneva’s edge and the train station, the hotel is centrally located for accessing all that Montreux has to offer, including the flower-decked waterfront promenade and many excellent restaurants. The station also gives you access to the efficient Swiss rail system, which can take you all over the region with ease.
We rate this hotel in Montreux for the central location, superb restaurant and terrace views. We also highly recommend the lake-view rooms, both for the view and their quiet atmosphere away from the street.

Rooms
There are several room sizes available. Half of them face the city, and the other half face the lake — we highly recommend the lake-view rooms, both for the view and for the buffer from the street noise.
All rooms are decorated in the same cool, bright style as the rest of the hotel: wooden floors, soft blues and grays, neutral fabrics and large windows. The white marble bathrooms are huge and some have bathtubs.
The Junior Suites have balconies and additional sitting areas, while the large Executive Suite includes enormous sliding glass doors that offer a sweeping lake view.
Location
The Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic is located directly opposite the train station, giving you access to the rest of the country at a moment’s notice. It’s also in the heart of Montreux, on the main street that runs along the shoreline of the lake. High-end shops, sophisticated restaurants and the garden promenade along the lakefront are all just outside your door.
