Katavi Foxes Camp has arguably the most outstanding location within the park with spectacular views across the Katisunga Plains. This is a wild and remote camp and it is not uncommon for elephant or even the occasional lion to pass through.
Each of the six tents are comfortably furnished and spread out among the trees that line the floodplain. They are imaginatively designed and offer en suite facilities with solar-powered showers. The tents are well lit and there is electricity available in your room from 6.30pm.
In the evenings you will sit around the campfire before retiring to the main area of the lodge for some tasty food. There is also an upper deck within the main area and this provides the perfect vantage point for those idyllic sunset shots.
It is also possible to do full day excursions to Paradise. This is another stunning plain, surrounded by beautiful palm trees offering quite different scenery to what you will have experienced elsewhere in Katavi. At certain times of year this area offers opportunities to view large herds of buffalo as well as a host of other plains game.
