The Phumanee Lahu Home is a family run property which provides a friendly base for those wishing to explore the local hill tribe communities. The hotel is operated by ancestors of Phu Muen, the man who led the migration of Lahu people from Myanmar into Thailand 120 years ago.
The 30 comfortable, en suite rooms are simply furnished and display elements of Lahu culture. A variety of food is served in the simple restaurant including traditional Lahu dishes as well as Thai and some Western options. They also serve fresh tea and coffee produced in local villages.
In the communal areas you will find displays dedicated to the origins, history and culture of the Lahu people.
The following activities are designed to give you the most authentic experiences of the area where you're staying. We work with local guides, who use their knowledge and often a resident's eye to show you the main sights and more out-of-the-way attractions. Our specialists can also suggest outdoor pursuits and activities, such as cooking classes, that will introduce you to the traditions of the area's inhabitants.
You will visit the tea plantations and learn how the villagers make a living by picking and processing tea and coffee, take in the scenic views on the way to a Lahu village and enjoy a local dancing ceremony with the hill-tribes. End the day with a dinner and an overnight stay at Phumanee.
