Inn at the Market

Seattle, The US

Seattle’s best boutique hotel, the Inn at the Market is an oasis of calm that rubs shoulders with bustling Pike Place Market. This is an intimate property, providing a personal service and excellent quality accommodation. Stylish and modern, but not ostentatious, the hotel is situated right next to the market and there's much to explore on your doorstep. A highlight of the property is its roof terrace, which offers wonderful views of Puget Sound, the ocean and the cityscape.

The modern rooms and suites are well appointed and also boast excellent views from their floor-to-ceiling windows.

OUR OPINION:

This excellent boutique hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Pike Place Market. Rooms are very smart, and there are some great views from the roof terrace, which is open to all guests. Although they're quite a bit pricier than City Side rooms, Water View rooms are well worth considering for their spectacular views.

Rooms

All rooms are smart, spacious and well-appointed, with modern, understated décor. All feature comfortable beds along with welcoming extras such as signature bathrobes, fine toiletries, complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen cable TVs and in-house movie systems.

City Side rooms offer a queen or king size bed, while a limited number of rooms come with two double beds. The higher-end options include the Partial Water View, Water View and Deluxe Water View rooms, with the latter offering spectacular vistas of the bay. For a more luxurious stay, there are a limited number of One Bedroom Suites available, which have a separate sitting room with views out to the waterfront.

Those looking for a more exclusive stay can opt for the Beecher's Loft, situated adjacent to the hotel above the market. Designed by architect Sergio Chin Ley, this ultra swish, open-plan apartment has its own kitchen and large dining table, a private balcony with excellent views over the water and a comfortable lounge area filled with natural light from the large windows. Exposed beams and wooden floors create a warm feel, and guests still have access to all of the hotel's facilities.

Location

The Inn at the Market is tucked away in a quiet courtyard, yet take a few steps out onto the street and you find yourself in the midst of Pike Place Market, one of the city’s most popular attractions. There are a myriad of restaurants and a couple of bars within walking distance. It’s a fairly steep downhill walk to the waterfront, while the Seattle Center is 30 minutes away on foot.

Food and drink

Inn at the Market offers dining at three independent but affiliated nearby restaurants. Bacco is a café offering Pacific Northwest cuisine made using local ingredients from Pike Place Market. It serves breakfast all day, with a unique mix of fresh squeezed juices and a full espresso bar, plus offers an extensive lunch menu. Café Champagne dishes up classic French fare such as cassoulet and steak frites and is open for lunch and dinner, while Chan Seattle offers a mix of modern and traditional Korean food and drink prepared with Western cooking techniques.

Facilities and activities

This is a small hotel where staff go out of their way to make guests feel at home. Valet parking is available for an additional cost, and full concierge services are provided, including in-room dining for breakfast and dinner. Same day laundry service can also be arranged, and Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the property.

Accessibility
