Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Antananarivo.

  • On arrival in Antananarivo (Tana), you will be met and assisted with currency exchange before being driven to your nearby hotel for the night.

  • This morning, you will return to the airport for your flight to the beautiful ÃŽle Sainte-Marie. Upon landing, you will be taken to Princesse Bora Lodge & Spa by Zebu cart. The afternoon is then yours to settle in and start exploring.

  • Today you may like to explore some of the stunning coastline. The lodge runs a number of excursions to some of the smaller surrounding islands including ÃŽle aux Nattes, at the southern tip of the main island. Here you can snorkel among the colourful fish, stroll along the white sandy beaches and visit the lighthouse for some great views over the island.

  • Today is your last full day at Princesse Bora. You may like to visit the nearby Pirate Cemetery, go snorkelling at Ampanihy or simply relax in the beautiful hotel grounds.

  • This afternoon you will return to the airport for your flight to Tana. This evening you may like to enjoy dinner in one of the many lovely restaurants in the city.

  • You will leave the capital today and fly to Fort Dauphin in the south. A driver from Mandrare River Camp will meet you. He will drive you to camp, a journey that takes around four hours. You will visit magnificent dunes on your way to have lunch. On arrival, you'll be able to relax with a cold drink and enjoy some of the superb food the chef conjures up.

  • There are numerous activities to enjoy from Mandrare River Camp. We highly recommend walking in the sacred forest — excellent for viewing lemurs, chameleons and the birds of the dry south.

  • Today you can spend the day on further forest walks or immersing yourself in the Antandroy culture. You can visit the local village and meet with the ombiasy or get involved with learning how to use a zebu-hide slingshot! The Antandroy tribe are a fascinating people and you will gain a unique insight into their culture.

  • This morning you will have a chance to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before being taken back to Fort Dauphin. You will then catch your flight back to Antananarivo and will have the evening to relax at your hotel.

  • Early this morning you will be taken to Ivato Airport to meet your flight to Anjajavy. Once you have landed, you will be driven to the hotel, where a late breakfast will be waiting for you on the lawn. This afternoon you may wish to relax by the pool to recover from your flight before enjoying tea in the Oasis in the early evening.

  • We suggest today that you explore some of the nature that Anjajavy is home to, the dry reserve is home to numerous lemur species as well as lots of crabs, reptiles and different flora. You may also like to go out on a night walk this evening enjoying the nocturnal wildlife and hopefully spotting some tiny mouse lemurs.

  • Today you will be able to explore the private stretch of coastline that belongs to Anjajavy. Relax in a secluded cove or perhaps try some snorkelling.

  • Today, you could visit Moramba Bay. This trip is a wonderful way to explore the wild and untouched coastline, full of unusual flora, birdlife, and, if you're lucky, dolphins.

  • Today, you could visit a local village and learn more about rural life or spend the day snoozing by the pool and enjoying the beautiful grounds.

  • Early this afternoon, you will be taken to Anjajavy airstrip to meet your flight back to Tana and then join your onward flight out of Madagascar. If necessary, you will have the use of a day room at a nearby hotel before your flight.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
