Today you will travel to Kandy. It is a city filled with lots to see, located in the lower hill region, surrounded by tea estates. Go on a guided food walk this evening with a local guide; explore markets, eateries, and enjoy snacks and street foods.

Be guided around Kandy today, and its Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Later, visit the Temple of The Sacred Tooth. It can be busy, but it is a wonderful insight into Buddhism and local culture.

Travel north this morning, to the impressive caves in Dambulla. Dating back to the 1st century BC, the site consists of temples carved into the rock, with panoramic views. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your nearby hotel.

Climb Sri Lanka's iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress this morning before exploring the nearby ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa is still a devout holy city; you're likely to see brightly robed monks and pilgrims dressed in white, with floral offerings.

Travel onward to Anuradhapura for the next two nights. Explore the ancient city by bicycle with your guide before relaxing at your pool villa at your hotel.

Today is at your leisure at Ulagalla. Enjoy the swimming pool and spa or choose one of the hotel's local excursions to enjoy. They include temple walks and paddy field picnics.

Before continuing north to Jaffna, go on a morning game drive in Wilpattu National Park. Travel by jeep to hopefully see wild elephants and local birdlife among many other species of animals which call the park home.

Jaffna has a turbulent history and strong Tamil influence; it's a unique place to visit. It's closer to India than Colombo. Today you will be able to start your tour of the city area with your guide.

Another day to continue your explorations of Jaffna. Today you may want to visit one of the nearby islands or go up to the top of the peninsula. It's an interesting place; a fascinating contrast to the rest of the island.

Travel southeast today to reach the coastal city of Trincomalee. There's history to explore, or just enjoy the long, sandy beaches by your hotel.

Today is at your leisure. Read under the swimming pool's palm trees, enjoy a walk along the beach or wander to see some of Trincomalee's fishermen at work.

Leave the beach behind to travel across the island, commencing your journey home. Enjoy this evening at The Wallawwa. It has organic gardens to explore, a spa and swimming pool; ideal for your last afternoon and evening.
