Nestled in the Atlantic rainforest just 20 minutes from the renowned Iguazú Falls, Awasi consists of a main lodge and 14 private guest villas. The villas are set atop stilts and scattered through the jungle, carefully spaced for privacy. There are 13 regular villas and one master villa with two rooms for families or couples traveling together.
The villas all have a generous living space and are decorated with materials that reflect the landscape around the lodge — natural-edge wood, traditional textiles and baskets woven by the area’s indigenous Guarani people. Each lodge comes with its own outdoor shower, plunge pool and the services of a private guide as well as access to a 4x4 vehicle. This allows guests the freedom to go beyond the falls at a pace that suits them. In addition to Iguazú Falls, you can also explore nearby ruins and trails through the rainforest.
All meals are included and the menu spotlights locally sourced fare that’s plucked straight from the jungle and expertly prepared.
Just like its sister properties of Awasi Patagonia and Atacama, this lodge continues to impress with a high level of service. Awasi charms you with its warm and cheerful staff who are always ready to get outdoors or provide a house cocktail after your excursions. Awasi creates a special experience giving guests access to much more than the falls. With private 4x4s, kayaks and river boats guests can work with their guide to plan their stay at the lodge — allowing you to be as active or as relaxed as you like.

Rooms
The Awasi consists of a main lodge and 14 private guest villas, built on stilts in order to reduce environmental impacts. The villas are carefully spaced to be convenient to the main lodge but far enough apart to ensure privacy. The decor of the villas reflects the rainforest outside, using natural materials like traditional fabrics in light earth tones, natural-edged wood and baskets woven by the Guarani. Each room comes with a private plunge pool, an outdoor shower, a coffee corner and a deck with loungers.
There are 13 regular villas and one master villa with two rooms for families or couples traveling together.
Location
The lodge lies just outside of Iguazú National Park, which helps to preserve both the falls and the surrounding Atlantic rainforest. Teeming with life, this ecosystem evolved unconnected to other rainforests, which means that many of the species here are endemic. The tangled canopy of trees is home to a host of brightly plumaged birds, as well as tapirs, Capuchin monkeys and pumas.
On excursions into the jungle, you might find crystal-clear pools that are only reachable by boat, or discover the ruins left behind by Jesuit missionaries who worked to protect the indigenous tribes.
And, of course, Iguazú Falls is a key sight, located just 20 minutes from the lodge. The largest system of waterfalls on the planet, it’s comprised of more than 250 individual cataracts that thunder down a horseshoe-shaped gorge marking the border between Brazil and Argentina.
Food and drink
Chef Aarón Castillo TellerÃa creates artfully prepared dishes that are inspired by the bounty of the rainforest. The small menu changes daily to incorporate the fresh, locally sourced ingredients coming into the kitchen. Diners can choose to dine in either the roomy restaurant or outside on the terrace under the cover of the rainforest foliage.
Families
Families with children over the age of 10 are welcome at the Awasi. We recommend families stay in the spacious master suite.
Facilities and activities
As part of your stay, each villa is assigned a private guide and access to a 4x4 vehicle. You can choose whichever excursions appeal to you, whether that’s visiting the falls, exploring trails through the rainforest or seeing the Jesuit ruins. Both full- and half-day options are available.
The hotel also features a main lodge that's open to guests in addition to the bar and restaurant.
