My study abroad in Australia completely changed my life! While living in Sydney, I was able to travel around and explore much of Australia. After this experience I knew travel was all I wanted to do, and I spent the better portion of the following years exploring as many places as I could. I’ve had the opportunity to live in Dublin, drink wine in France, hike through Patagonia and motorbike up the coastline of Vietnam. Australia inspired me to see the world and was one of the best times of my life.
From the moment I landed in Sydney, I knew it was a special place. There is nothing quite like strolling through Circular Quay with the Opera House on one side and the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the other — it’s magical. I feel so lucky to have been able to return recently to explore even more corners of the country. Whether it be drinking a “magic” coffee in Melbourne, exploring the rugged coastline in Tasmania, or diving in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia has so many amazing experiences to offer.
I am so grateful to be able to share my experiences and inspire others to see the world.

Q&A with Devin
What’s your most vivid travel moment?
Driving along Australia’s Great Ocean Road was one of my favorite, most vivid travel memories. Seeing the Twelve Apostles had been at the top of my travel list for so long. I was filled with excitement as I stepped out of the car and walked down the long, sandy path. As I got closer, the massive rock structures peaked into view and it was truly breathtaking. Watching the ocean roar and swirl around these giant, limestone sea stacks was incredible. Standing there, taking it all in is a feeling I will never forget.
Where would you love to travel next?
I would love to travel to Central American next, specifically Nicaragua. I've never been to this part of the world and after getting my dive certification last year, I am dying to explore more of the underwater world. Apart from the amazing reefs, this region offers beautiful coastlines, striking volcanoes and incredible food. With a mix of adventure and beach time, it sounds like an incredible trip. I hope to go soon.
Your best piece of travel advice?
My best piece of travel advice is don’t outdo yourself. Australia is a massive country, almost the size of the US. The best thing you can do is pick a few destinations and really get to know them. Being able to spend time in an area really helps you feel connected to the country and truly get to know it. I can completely understand wanting to see as many places as possible, but trust me, slowing down will give you such an incredible experience that you will be so thankful for.
