Bennett's wallaby, Bruny Island, Tasmania

Bruny Island

Bruny Island lies off the southeast coast of Tasmania, some 25 kilometers from Hobart. The island is an unspoilt haven with spectacular scenery and a landscape which varies from pasture to rainforest. It boasts glorious miles of sandy beaches and rugged cliffs.

Leaving Hobart in the morning you will join your host, Robert, where the highlights of this relaxing trip are a cruise into untouched wilderness and abundant wildlife. The vessel is designed to provide you with a comfortable place to interact as closely as possible with the diverse wildlife in the area. Along the way you can visit the secluded caves and sculptured rocky islands that fringe Bruny National Park, along with Friar Rocks, home to numerous and curious Australian fur seals. The wildlife is numerous and includes: dolphins, fairy penguins, white-bellied sea eagles, shy albatrosses (or shy mollymawk), Australasian gannets, black-faced and great cormorants. You may even observe the migrating southern right or humpback whales.
