Natur'Eau Spa and Chalets

Natur'Eau Spa and Chalets

²Ï³Üé²ú±ð³¦, Canada

Natur'Eau Spa and Chalets is an escape into the wilderness in the Maurice region of Québec. Nestled in the woods of the Mastigouche Valley, just ten minutes from Mandeville, this small collection of pods and chalets provides a comfortable base to explore nature. The spa facility is the cherry-on-top, with several hot pools, relaxation areas, a steam room and sauna, all overlooking the forested hills.

The region is home to many hiking trails, wildlife viewing opportunities and waterfalls. There’s a small bistro on site if you prefer not to cook for yourself, but the gas fires, private decks and thoughtful touches in the pods and chalets provide such a welcome that it’s unlikely you’ll want to leave.

OUR OPINION:

This group of self-contained units is a welcome escape in Québec’s nature. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design of each unit, and there is a warm welcome from the staff. Relaxing at the spa is the shining light of the property.

Rooms

Each of the chalets, pods and mini-houses have a sense of comfort and luxury despite the wild location. The small pods feel spacious thanks to the domed ceiling and separation of rooms. The mini-houses feel fresh and modern with cottage decor and wood panelling, each designed slightly differently, and the chalets were the original buildings on the site, now refurbished with a contemporary, elegant lodge atmosphere.

Each lodging unit has cooking facilities including an oven, stove, and coffee maker, along with a covered fire pit. Given the wild nature of the property, none of the accommodations have a telephone, mobile phone reception or TV.

Location

Natur’Eau is very much in the wilderness, nestled amid the forest. The closest town is Mandeville, about ten minutes away and has a convenience store and a couple of casual eateries. The Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve and Maurice National Park are just a short drive away offering wildlife viewing and hiking trails. Mandeville is about halfway between Montréal and Québec City, and about two hours’ drive from both.

Food and drink

There’s a small bistro located in the main spa building open during spa hours serving light meals with fresh ingredients. Mandeville is the closest town with a couple of casual dining options. All pods, homes and chalets feature full kitchens with a fridge, sink, stove top and oven along with all cooking equipment. For warmer evenings, each unit also has a private BBQ.

Facilities and activities

As well as the spa facility, there’s a short 2 km (1 mile) hike through the woods which makes for an excellent morning activity. Wi-Fi is only available in the spa building as this is designed to be an escape from technology location. Mandeville is a short drive away and has a small convenience store for any food and drink needs. The Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve is also just a short drive away for hiking and biking adventures. Please note that access to the spa isn’t included in your stay but a discount is offered for guests.
