You will be transferred at a pre-arranged time with your guide to Selvatura, a conservation project in Monteverde. With an area of more than 1,200 acres of protected land, Selvatura’s Canopy Walkways are the best way to safely explore the virgin cloudforest treetops.
Through the bridge system and over 1.6 miles of easy walking trails, you will be able to enjoy the marvels of the cloudforest and get the chance to see some of the world’s most amazing flora and fauna. Selvatura’s Canopy Walkways feature eight bridges of different lengths, making up a total of 800 meters of canopy bridges.
Other attractions at Selvatura include:
- The Selvatura Education Centre — Learn about the cloudforest and see some of the things you may have missed during your excursion. The world's largest private insect collection is also on display here, property of the world-famous entomologist Dr Richard Whitten.
- The Hummingbird Garden — Observe more than 14 different species of hummingbird from the cloudforest, providing some great photographic opportunities.
- Zip-lining — Soar through the trees via a system of safe cables and zip-lines. The canopy zip-line tour consists of 15 cables and 18 platforms and takes approximately two and a half hours. This is a thrilling way to experience the canopy and offers incredible views, although the nature of this activity means that we only recommend this for the more adventurous.
