This hacienda has been receiving guests since the 15th century, and therefore has a rich historical tradition. Built on the site of an Inca Palace (dating from 1440 and built by one of the last Inca emperors), the building today retains many examples of Inca stonework, along with colonial additions.
Today the hacienda (which is still a working farm) is owned by the Plaza family, who first bought the property in 1921, and it has been turned into an exclusive place to stay. Rooms are all individually decorated, and have fireplaces and artwork by the Chilean artist Manuel Araya.
