A small, boutique property in the village of Talloires on the shores of Lac d’Annecy, Beau-Site Talloires dates back to the late 19th century. It looks out over the lakefront, its lawns sweeping down to a grassy beach, mature trees shading the sun loungers and dining area.
Inside, the design is warm and welcoming with contemporary decor combining with period features. The 32 rooms are individually styled and decorated in shades of blue combined with calm neutrals that reflect the tones of the surrounding mountains. Some have furnished balconies or private gardens with lake views.
The restaurant has large windows overlooking the waterfront and mountains, as well as an outdoor seating area, and serves a menu of light lunches with more ambitious dishes served at dinner. There’s also a tea room, chic lounge bar and a smaller outdoor bar closer to the lake.
Outside, the large gardens include a children’s play area and tennis courts. Boats and electric bikes can be rented and there’s a great choice of walking trails nearby. The village itself is pleasant for a stroll and has a good selection of restaurants and shops, while Annecy is easily accessible by car, ferry or private boat.
Our preferred hotel on Lac d’Annecy, Beau-Site Talloires is a perfect place from which to explore the lake as well as the quaint village of Talloires. The interior is warm, welcoming and effortlessly elegant.
