Ritz Paris

Paris, France

With an effortless style and grace befitting royal and celebrity lifestyles, the Ritz Paris is a palatial hotel offering the best setting in the city, as well as an intriguing history. Coco Chanel, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and numerous royals and heads of state have graced its hallways, giving the hotel a reputation for opulent living.

It's located on fashionable Place Vendôme, within walking distance of the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay. The sumptuous interiors are designed in a classical French style and feature antique furniture, marble fireplaces and gilded embellishments.

The hotel restaurant, L’Espadon, has two Michelin stars, while the hedonistic 1920s are evoked in the Ritz Bar. There's also a spa, swimming pool and courtyard garden.

OUR OPINION:

When it comes to historical significance, grandeur and beauty, there's little to rival the Ritz Paris. We also particularly like its location on Place Vendôme. Having earned the coveted ‘palace’ distinction, this hotel easily demonstrates its place as one of the very best in Paris.

Rooms

Rooms at the Ritz Paris feature varied palettes of soft greens, reds and blues. Step inside and your attention is immediately drawn to the stately marble fireplaces and ornate chandeliers, while wood-panel walls and a generous touch of gold in its picture frames and lamps add further grandeur. Views look onto the expansive interior garden, the Place Vendôme or toward the Eiffel Tower in the distance, with some rooms featuring small terraces or balconies. Flat screen TVs are cleverly hidden in the mirrors so as not to take away from the Parisian apartment feel. Bathrooms are indulgent and inviting, many with stand-alone baths and separate showers.

Location

The hotel’s location on Place Vendôme makes it ideally situated for exploring the best of what Paris has to offer. The Palais Garnier, the opera house that provided the setting for The Phantom of the Opera, can be reached in less than ten minutes on foot, and both the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay can be reached in less than 20 minutes.

Food and drink

The hotel offers multiple dining options. The Ritz Bar, which gave rise to the term ‘ritzy’, evokes the decadence of the 1920s and 1930s, serving bistro-style sharing plates and inspired cocktails. Bar Vendôme sits under a glass canopy and serves a seasonal menu of brasserie classics. More creative flair is used at L’Espadon, with its two Michelin stars and modern French cuisine. Finally, heritage-style Bar Hemingway provides a quiet refuge for pre- or post-dinner drinks.

Facilities and activities

The exclusive Ritz Club offers guests the opportunity to relax in a private, intimate environment. Guests can choose from a range of treatments from expert therapists, have their hair styled in the salon by celebrity stylist David Mallett, or benefit from the attention of a private fitness coach.
