Casa del Mundo has rooms built right into the cliff edge and so all offer lake views, and it's a great place to catch a memorable Lake Atitlán sunset.
There’s a small hot tub where the sun terraces overlook the lake, and it’s possible to swim in the lake around the hotel.
The hotel offers a wide range of activities including hiking trails, volcano hikes, kayaking, swimming in the lake, visits to Mayan villages or simply relaxing around the hotel.
Casa del Mundo is a charming property with superb views of the lake and excellent staff, however, there are numerous stairs throughout the hotel so the property may not be appropriate for those with mobility limitations.

Rooms are en suite with hot water (mostly by solar power) and are simply furnished, featuring traditional Mayan decor. Portable fans are available to cool the room but may not be automatically offered, so do ask at reception if the weather is particularly warm.
Location
Casa del Mundo is a 20-minute boat journey away from the lakeside town of Panajachel. There are many steps to climb to get to the hotel, but the views make up for it.
Food and drink
Dinner is served at the hotel's restaurant, and a cafe is also open for lunch where you might like to try a freshly blended fruit smoothie, fully loaded nachos, and hearty sandwiches.
