This contemporary hotel on Reykjavík’s main shopping street has an intimate and peaceful atmosphere in spite of its size.

All of the 170 minimalist rooms spread across two connected buildings have tasteful Nordic decor, calming hues, local artworks, and windows to allow for plenty of natural light. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, minibars, and en suite bathrooms.

For end of day relaxing, the modern and spacious Miðgarður Spa has an indoor soaking pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, cold showers, treatment rooms for massages, and small gym outfitted with cardio machines and free weights. There’s also a secluded garden, a relaxed bar that hosts live music performances on Thursday evenings, and a restaurant that serves Nordic fusion cuisine created with fresh and local ingredients. The hotel’s reception desk is open 24 hours and the concierge team are happy to help with sightseeing suggestions and tour bookings.

Rooms

Available in three categories, the 170 minimalist rooms spread across two connected buildings all have tasteful Nordic decor, calming hues, local artworks, and windows to allow for plenty of natural light. Modern amenities include flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, minibar, and safe deposit box. Please note that while all rooms have an en suite bathroom with shower, not all offer a bathtub. Upgrading to a Standard Plus or Deluxe room includes complimentary access to Miðgarður Spa for the duration of your stay.

Location

Given that the hotel is so close to Laugavegur, ¸é±ð²â°ìÂá²¹±¹Ã­°ì’s main shopping street, there’s a wealth of cafés, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The harbor area and the Harpa Concert Hall are within a 20-minute walk. For public transport links, bus stop 13 is located right outside the hotel.

Food and drink

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Jörgensen Kitchen & Bar serves Nordic fusion cuisine created with fresh and local ingredients. A full buffet breakfast is served every morning and includes regional delicacies as well as international options. There is also a relaxed bar that offers a selection of cocktails and local craft beer and hosts live music performances on Thursday evenings.

Families

While there are no connecting rooms or large suites for families, one extra bed or a crib can be added to the Deluxe room for an extra charge.
