A lovingly converted family residence dating back to 1867, this boutique hotel in the fishing village of Stykkishólmur has lost none of its historic quality and period charm. A classic-meets-contemporary design scheme prevails in the ten small but comfortable guest rooms, all of which feature nautical decor, soft blue hues, wooden detailing, bespoke furnishings, modern amenities, and plenty of natural light.
Elsewhere, you’ll find cozy communal areas, including a library for swapping books and a lounge for enjoying homemade breakfasts and evening drinks. In the warmer months, the outdoor terrace is an ideal spot for relaxing with an Icelandic beer or freshly made smoothie while enjoying views of Breiðafjörður Bay and the nearby lighthouse. The hotel is a stylish base from which to explore Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a region famous for its dramatic volcano peaks, craters, lava fields, black and white sand beaches, caves, and waterfalls.
This small and characterful boutique hotel in the fishing village of Stykkishólmur hits the mark for its classic-meets-contemporary decor, attentive service, and home-from-home vibe. We love the views across Breiðafjörður Bay.
