Rooms

The spacious, tastefully designed rooms are situated in two blocks — the South and West Wing. Each has its own private terrace or balcony and benefits from a good range of hi-tech amenities, luxury bed linens, soft silk cushions and glossy wooden floors.

The larger Alila Suites benefit from an in-room bathtub for two overlooking the palm trees, making them a romantic option for couples, while a number of family rooms and suites are also available.

For further exclusivity, rooms and suites in the separate Diwa Club Wing allow guests to enjoy a separate pool and restaurant, as well as the main facilities of the hotel.

Location

The property is located in southern Goa, just 20 minutes' drive from Dabolim International Airport and a short stroll to the nearest beach. The nearby village of Majorda has several historic churches, local Goan restaurants (including Martin's Corner, which is an institution), and is said to produce the best bakers in Goa.

Food and drink

In-house dining options include The Spice Studio coastal specialty restaurant, which features dishes from each region of India; VIVO, serving Indian, Oriental and continental cuisine from its live kitchen; and The Edge Bar and Lounge, serving cocktails and snacks. Exclusively for Diwa Club guests, Bistro restaurant specializes in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern fare.

Families

Family rooms and suites offer additional space and bedding for those traveling with children, as well as easy access to the kids’ pool and club. The Kids' Club and Teen Zone runs creative activities and games, and a babysitting service is available.

Facilities and activities

At Spa Alila there’s a choice of unique treatments, blending ancient Asian healing techniques with age-old beauty recipes based on fresh, natural ingredients. The infinity pool overlooks the paddy fields separating the hotel from the beach, which guests can visit via a five-minute stroll or by taking the complimentary shuttle service. The resort even has its own ‘mini theater’ showing films twice a day. There’s also a library and a boutique.

Environmental and social responsibility

All materials used to build the hotel were sourced locally, and efforts were taken to ensure the surrounding trees and paddy fields weren't affected by the construction of the property. Alila Diwa supports a number of local community projects, including improving local school facilities, and providing local employment and training.
