A hotel with significant history yet a sleek, contemporary feel, the Europa is one of Belfast's top places to stay and a regular haunt of visiting politicians, musicians and celebrities. It was a regular target during the worst of Northern Ireland's conflict but a grand renovation returned its '70s exterior to its original and brought contemporary elegance to internal spaces with grand columns, marble flooring and chic, modern chandeliers.
Rooms at the Europa are contemporary in style with feature wallpapers, bedding in deep greens and reds, and soft Egyptian cotton sheets. The Causerie, the hotel's relaxed restaurant, serves a bistro-style menu, while the classy Lobby Bar and Piano Lounge are perfect for afternoon tea or an evening drink.
The Europa’s interesting history gives it prestige, but we love its central location and deluxe rooms.

Rooms
Rooms are contemporary in style and have a sense of understated elegance with plush fabrics and soft Egyptian cotton sheets. Little perks such as iPod docking stations and rainfall showers accentuate the feeling of luxury. No two rooms are alike as each is configured slightly differently, though all include complimentary Wi-Fi and LCD TV. The smaller classic rooms are more corporate in style while larger superior rooms are more refined and come with a shower over a bath. The junior suites are the most spacious and feature a separate lounge area, 40-inch TV and separate bath and shower.
Location
The hotel enjoys an ideal location in the heart of Belfast, within walking distance of dozens of shops and restaurants, the River Lagan and the Grand Opera House, as well as being easily accessible to the history of the Titanic Quarter by both car and public transport.
Food and drink
The Europa has several options for dining. The relaxed Causerie restaurant serves bistro-style dishes made from locally sourced ingredients while the upscale Piano Lounge and Lobby Bar serve lighter fare. The Piano Lounge also features live music every Friday and Saturday night.
Facilities and activities
Although the Europa itself does not have spa facilities, its guests may make use of the spa at its sister property, Culloden Estate & Spa, which can be reached in about 15 minutes by taxi.
