The Fitzwilliam Hotel

Dublin, Ireland

Ideally located overlooking St Stephen’s Green and shopping-haven Grafton Street, the Fitzwilliam Hotel is a sleek, modern option within walking distance of Trinity College and the city's main museums and galleries.

The interior was designed by Sir Terence Conran and its playful style is exemplified by the grand open fire, high ceilings, large oil paintings and striking chandeliers in the lobby. The 139 rooms offer a unique blend of style and luxury with dynamic, patterned carpets, bold curtains and splashes of lime green, hot pink and deep purple.

Modern Irish fare can be enjoyed at the hotel’s main restaurant Citron or alternatively, the small bar, the Inn on the Green, serves drinks, bar meals and a wonderful afternoon tea.

OUR OPINION:

We love the bold contemporary design and light hearted, playful atmosphere at this conveniently located hotel which also manages to offer excellent service and attention to detail.

Rooms

All rooms offer similar decor with chosen Conran-designed textures and fabrics and views of either the quiet inner courtyard garden or across St Stephen’s Green. Many rooms can cater for families wishing to share and deluxe rooms come complete with four-poster beds and roll top baths. However, for something really special, many of the deluxe premium rooms offer a delightful balcony area overlooking the treetops of St Stephen’s Green opposite. All rooms have a minibar, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV.

Location

The Fitzwilliam Hotel is located in the heart of the fashionable south inner city overlooking the tranquil gardens of St Stephen’s Green and at the top of the most exclusive shopping area in Dublin, Grafton Street. Some of the city’s main sights, including Trinity College, St Patrick’s Cathedral, the National Museum of Ireland and Dublin Castle are within easy walking distance.

Food and drink

Enjoy a buffet and à la carte breakfast, or a lunch of modern Irish cuisine with a creative twist, at the hotel’s Citron restaurant, located on the mezzanine floor above the lobby. Visit the Inn on the Green for a more relaxed bar meal or drink, or to sample the delightful afternoon tea on offer. Both venues use only the best local ingredients to create their finely crafted dishes.
