The K Club is an opulent, old world styled hotel located approximately half an hour west of Dublin. This magnificent property is set within vast leafy grounds traversed by the River Liffey. The property features two championship Arnold Palmer golf courses as well as the third largest spa in all of Ireland.

In additional to the wide range of entertainment options, the resort offers numerous dining facilities. Choices range from casual eateries, such as The K Thai, an Asian inspired eatery, and the golf-themed Legends Restaurant, to fine dining choices. The Byerley Turk is the hotel’s premiere restaurant set within a grand room outfitted with an ornate carpet, brocade wall coverings, and marble columns. Afternoon tea is served in the lavish Chinese Drawing Room, while evening drinks can be enjoyed in either the Media Puzzle Lounge or the Vintage Crop Cocktail Bar, both of which are named after prestigious racehorses.

The sophisticated atmosphere of the common areas carries through to the elegant guest rooms. All guest rooms have been individually decorated with traditional elements, such as patterned wallpaper, original paintings and antiques. Rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a Nespresso coffee machine.

OUR OPINION:

While The K Club is mostly known for its famed golf courses, we also love all of the other amenities and activities this country retreat can offer, from its enormous spa to a plethora of outdoor pursuits.

Rooms

The elegant rooms have been designed with comfort and luxury in mind to create a relaxing atmosphere in which to unwind. All guest rooms are individually designed with traditional elements, such as plush carpeting, patterned wallpaper, and thick drapes. Standard features across all room categories include a Nespresso coffee machine, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV. Special touches vary from room to room, but typically include original paintings and antiques. Furthermore, all rooms feature a spacious bathroom with a hand painted mural and a separate shower and bathtub.

Location

Situated within its own sprawling grounds on the outskirts of Straffan village, The K Club is just a ten-minute drive from the bustling down of Celbridge and only half an hour’s drive from central Dublin. Dublin airport also takes half an hour to reach by car.

Food and drink

Dining options range from The K Thai, a casual, Asian inspired eatery, to The Byerley Turk, an opulent, award-winning restaurant. Other options include the relaxed Legends Restaurant, which features golf memorabilia and overlooks the lakes of The Ryder Cup Course, or the stylish Media Puzzle Lounge and Vintage Crop Cocktail Bar, named after two champion Irish horses.

Facilities and activities

The K Club is acclaimed for its two championship Arnold Palmer golf courses, The Ryder Cup Course and The Smurfit Course. The hotel also has an enormous, award-winning spa, which offers a wide range of treatments as well as an indoor swimming pool and health club. The hotel is also able to arrange fishing, archery, wine cellar tours, and a host of other activities throughout the hotel’s vast grounds.
