The Mövenpick Resort Petra offers all the facilities you would expect from an international chain hotel, while the lobby and public areas are decorated in a traditional Arabesque style. The key advantage of this hotel is that it is just a stone’s throw away from the entrance to the famous Rose City, allowing you the opportunity to relax straight away after a day exploring Petra.
Rooms are simple, yet comfortable and there are two restaurants and a summertime roof terrace.
This is our favorite property in Petra, a good option for those who want to be right next to the famous Rose City, but please bear in mind that it is often fully booked in high season.

Rooms
There are a number of room options available, which can be divided into three main categories: Standard, Superior and Suites. Standard rooms, though the smallest, are still a good size with a view of the mountains and king size or twin beds. Superior rooms are slightly larger in size and all have balconies. As for suites, there are Junior Suites, Executive Suites and a Royal Suite. All rooms offer complimentary Wi-Fi and a non-alcoholic minibar. Interconnecting rooms, non-smoking rooms and wheelchair-accessible rooms are all available.
Location
In addition to being just a short walk from the entrance to Petra, the hotel is located only a few minutes on foot from small restaurants, souvenir shops and mini supermarkets. It is therefore possible to venture outside of the hotel after a day of sightseeing in Petra or prepare for the next day by picking up a few snacks.
Food and drink
Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered at Al Saraya restaurant, meanwhile you can enjoy a Mediterranean-themed à la carte dinner at Al Iwan. Further options for a spot of relaxation are the roof garden, the bar and the tea room. Some of these facilities may be closed in low season so it is worth checking the information board next to the lifts on your arrival to see what is open.

Petra City Tour
The tour begins with the walk down from the site entrance to the beginning of the Siq. This path is flanked with typical rock-cut tombs that are a very small precursor of the drama to come. The most impressive of these preliminary tombs is the Obelisk tomb.
