A boutique hotel located in the Haagsche Bluf area of The Hague, The Collector offers a chic place to stay in a convenient location near many of the city’s main sights. The architecture in this part of town is a bit of a ruse because the brick buildings with step-gabled rooflines are all relatively new, designed to resemble historical listed buildings to create an authentic feel.
The hotel’s interior is laid-back but stylish, with modern furnishings accented by vintage decor. Playing off its name, The Collector is filled with collections of things like buttons, rubber ducks, cameras and artwork. The art is all custom-made for the hotel, and features quirky takes on classic works. For instance, the hallways feature a piece with the face of Girl with a Pearl Earring inserted into a modern picture.
This type of work continues into the 57 rooms, where behind each bed you’ll find a large replica of a classic portrait, but created with collectors’ items like buttons, cassette tapes, dominoes and toy cars and figurines.
We love this hotel’s original style and its playful take on classic Dutch art.

Rooms
There are 57 rooms and suites at The Collector, divided among five categories. The Canvas and the Cabinet rooms are a bit on the small side, but still comfortable, while the Frame and the Gallery rooms are a bit more spacious. For the largest option, you can stay in the Collector Loft, a suite split between two floors. The rooms are spread out between two buildings, connected by an internal bridge overlooking the street below.
The rooms have a retro-chic feel to them with bronze accents, hues of green, red and black, and geometric furnishings in an Art Deco style. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
