Awaroa Lodge is located on the northern end of the iconic Abel Tasman National Park, nestled in the native forest and is inaccessible by road.

The lodge features 26 guest rooms from cute chalet style standard rooms to the architecturally designed superior suites. Awaroa Lodge is a TV-free environment and mobile phone coverage is non-existent, so you are free to absorb the sights and sounds of the native birdlife and glorious forest surroundings.

The lodge offers a restaurant, café and bar, day spa, and on sunny days an outdoor pizzeria which serves as a refreshment stop for track walkers. There is also a private beach just a short walk from the main lodge.

Rooms

The 26 guest rooms at Awaroa Lodge vary in size and style. The original standard and family rooms are nestled among sandy pathways and include a small outdoor seating area, an en suite with a walk-in shower, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and Wi-Fi access. The architecturally designed superior suites are positioned over the wetland area and offer spacious, comfortable, and private rooms which include Wi-Fi access, a fridge, coffee machine, seating area, private balcony and contemporary en suite with walk-in shower. All rooms are a very short walk to the main lodge dining, spa and laundry facilities.

Location

Awaroa Lodge is a 90-minute water taxi trip from Kaiteriteri and is not accessible by road. You can choose to arrive by water transfer, helicopter, or on foot. Awaroa Lodge is a 20-minute walk from the private beach where you arrive and your luggage will be transferred by the lodge porters.

Food and drink

Awaroa Lodge has a menu that showcases the best regional and seasonal produce paired with a carefully selected wine list. Choose to dine in the Harakeke Restaurant, in the courtyard, or at the outdoor pizzeria.

Families

Children are welcome in the Family Rooms where you will find a quirky mezzanine floor. Older kids can enjoy guided kayak trips and our restaurant offers a kids' menu for our visiting ‘tamariki.’

Awaroa is about taking in the surrounding nature and disconnecting from the buzz of society. Here, you will find a TV-free environment and guests are encouraged to explore the area on foot or kayak and relax in the lodge or spa.
