Ocean Safari
These ocean safaris are quite exciting as they involve beach launches and landings, crossing through the surf.

After being collected from your hotel, be driven over the spectacular Outeniqua Mountain Pass and enter the Little Karoo. This taster to the Karoo Desert is a beautiful place, not quite as harsh or barren as the Karoo, but still stark and impressive. The climate proved ideal for rearing ostriches, and thanks to the Victorian craze for ostrich feathers, the town of Oudtshoorn flourished.
The orientation tour of the town will take you past some of the "Feather Palaces", houses of the merchants who grew rich from the feather trade. Outside Oudtshoorn are the Cango Caves, one of the premier natural attractions in South Africa. Huge caverns with stalagmites and stalactites are open to the public and have been lit in such a way as to make them especially dramatic.
After the caves you visit the Safari Ostrich Farm. Here you learn about these odd birds, and may get the chance to see them race.
