Itinerary idea in detail

Ask us if you would also like us to arrange your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • Your guide will be waiting for you at Bangkok Airport and will accompany you on your private transfer to your boutique hotel, tucked away down a narrow soi (street).

  • Today you will have a private guided tour of Bangkok visiting the capital's key attractions: the Grand Palace, Wat Po (home to the reclining Buddha) and Jim Thompson's house. You will get to use Bangkok's different forms of public transport — the Skytrain, which winds its way through the skyscrapers and shopping malls; the public taxi boat, a long-tail boat; and, of course, the infamous Thai tuk-tuk! This fun excursion will give you a fantastic insight into the capital and the people who call Bangkok home.

  • An early start this morning to visit the summer palace of Bang Pa In, built by Rama IV. You can also see a Gothic-inspired temple on the banks of the river before boarding your converted rice barge for lunch. As you enjoy lunch, you will cruise past small communities along the water and into the ancient capital of Ayutthaya. Explore the historical park with your guide before returning to Bangkok this evening.

  • Departing Bangkok after breakfast, you will have a two-hour private road transfer to your comfortable safari-style camp located by the River Kwai near Kanchanaburi. Breakfast and dinner are included during your stay, and you may visit the small on-site museum or enjoy a swim in the riverside rock pool.

  • This area is renowned for its time during World War II when the Japanese used Allied POWs to build the Thailand-Burma Railway. You will gain an insight into this history with a private guided tour of the main points of interest: the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai and Hell Fire Pass. The tour includes a boat journey up the River Kwai and a train journey on the infamous Death Railway.

  • From Kanchanaburi, you will travel across the central region of Thailand with your guide toward the country's oldest National Park, Khao Yai. The journey will take approximately five hours.

  • Today, you will enjoy a private guided trek in the Khao Yai National Park to enjoy its incredible scenery and explore the flora and fauna. Monkeys and hornbills are often seen, and the park is home to wild elephants.

  • The beach part of your vacation starts today. You will return to Bangkok for your internal flight to Krabi. Staff from your resort will be waiting to greet you and transfer you and other guests to your resort by road and speedboat. The Layana Resort & Spa is an exclusive adults-only beach resort located on the island of Koh Lanta.

  • Day at leisure to relax and enjoy the beaches of Koh Lanta. Your resort can offer many activities, including sunset cruises, diving, kayaking, boat and snorkeling trips.

  • Day at leisure. You may like to enjoy a spa treatment, explore the nearby town or relax on the beach.

  • Today will be your last day to enjoy your lovely setting by the beach before heading home.

  • Staff from Layana will return you to Krabi Airport by speedboat and then road for your internal flight to Bangkok where you will connect with your international flight home.
