An attraction in itself, Fundacion Pacita Batanes Nature Lodge sits in an enviable position perched on the rugged hilltop with panoramic views of the island's interior and Pacific coastline. The lodge is named after the famed local artist Pacita de Abad, who had the home built especially for her retirement but sadly never got to use it before she passed. Her life’s work is documented and showcased in the hotel's own gallery and examples of her artwork can be viewed in places as far away as Singapore.
The hotel comprises 12 rooms, each with its own en suite bathroom and private balcony. The rooms are split between the gallery building and garden building with the reception area and on-site restaurant being centrally located between the two. As well as the well-appointed rooms, stunning views and an interesting look into Pacita’s life, the hotel offers plenty of ways to escape and relax, whether it be on the privacy of your own balcony surrounded by nature in the hotel's beautifully kept gardens, or on a walking trail across the nearby hills.
The restaurant serves up a delicious selection of Western favorites as well as a few local specialities, understandably focused on readily available seafood.
