Mweya Safari Lodge is located on the ridge of the Mweya peninsula that separates Lake Edward from the Kazinga Channel. There are fantastic views over the lake and the channel.

The 54 rooms are laid out along the ridge in single story blocks. Each room has a ceiling fan, mosquito nets and en suite bathroom with bath and shower. All the rooms have their own private terrace and most look over the Kazinga Channel below. The standard rooms are quite simple and the deluxe rooms are of a good standard with air conditioning. The suites are even larger with a separate sitting area and there are now also luxury tents.

The main lodge has a large swimming pool and sundeck with some steps leading down the hill to an observation point where you can sit and watch the animals coming down to the water to drink and the hippo wallowing. The dining room serves good food that switches between buffet and à la carte meals.

Ballooning has long been popular in East Africa for wildlife viewing and taking in the majesty of the environment. An early start is unavoidable but the morning wake-up call will soon be forgotten as you float over the bush below, spotting animals from the air.
