Spanning four Georgian townhouses, the Queensberry Hotel is a contemporary option if you’re looking for a quiet retreat. The hotel is a ten-minute walk from the heart of Bath, although the Bath Assembly Rooms (where Bath’s Georgian high society met) and several shops and cafés are close by. For fine dining, you can eat in the hotel’s triple AA Rosette-awarded Olive Tree restaurant. The Old Q Bar serves evening drinks in a laid-back atmosphere.
The hotel has 29 rooms and suites, all of which feature warm and bright tones inspired by nature. Originally the houses’ drawing rooms, the suites are a good size and have high ceilings, fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows.
This is a friendly and attractive property, located on one of Bath’s many hills. Because it’s a steep climb from the middle of Bath, we wouldn’t recommend the hotel if you have mobility issues.

Rooms
In keeping with the feel of the hotel, its rooms are contemporary and decorated to exude a simple elegance with warm and vibrant, nature-inspired hues. No two rooms are the same: all have been designed to be different.
There are four types of double bedrooms, and two categories of suites. Starting life as drawing rooms, many of the suites feature high ceilings, fireplaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The grand Four Poster Suite overlooks Russell Street and the hotel’s gardens. An en suite bathroom, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi are standard in each room.
Location
The Queensberry Hotel is a ten-minute walk from the middle of Bath and a good option in a quieter area of the city. The Bath Assembly Rooms are very close, as are several shops and cafés.Â
Food and drink
Striving to showcase the best of British fine dining, the triple AA Rosette-awarded Olive Tree Restaurant serves local, seasonal dishes. For an afternoon or evening drink, the Old Q Bar is a relaxed and cheerful option. It prides itself on being ‘quintessentially British’, as displayed in playful decorative details such as the Union Jack cushions.
Accessibility
As this property is located on a hill, it isn’t ideal for anyone with mobility issues. Not all the rooms can be accessed by an elevator, and the corridors are positioned on slightly different levels.
