Financial District Walking Tour

This two-hour Saturday afternoon walking tour takes you through the oldest parts of New York City.

With highlights that include Battery Park, Bowling Green, Fraunces Tavern, and Wall Street, this walk explores New York City from its founding as a Dutch settlement on the Hudson River to its rise to become one of the world’s great financial centers.

Your guide will bring New York City to life through the eyes of Alexander Hamilton, a penniless immigrant who rose to become the nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury. On this Wall Street walking tour, you will see the history of the New York Stock Exchange and the Federal Reserve Building where you will discover the history behind today’s modern financial system, including the argument between Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson about whether to embrace a capitalist economy.

You will also discover the rich history of lower New York with stories of the Statue of Liberty, immigration at Ellis Island, and the Canyon of Heroes.
