The four Indochina Sails vessels are custom-designed wooden junks combining classic 1930s Indochine style with modern comfort. All were built in Vietnam between 2007 and 2010 using local materials and craftsmen, with the gu huong wood adding to the ships’ character and charm.

Sailing on board any of the Indochina Sails vessels gives the opportunity to explore the UNESCO site of Halong Bay at a comfortable and rewarding pace. The boats are styled as traditional Vietnamese junks, with local artwork and silks made in rural villages decorating the boat’s interior.
Facilities are impressive but by no means a focal point, and the journey should be appreciated from each ship’s well-designed cabins, charming restaurant or large sun deck, where you can bask in the sunshine, take in views of the beautiful sunsets over the limestone karsts, and gaze up at the glittering stars after nightfall.
As with all Indochina Sails itineraries the journeys are well organized and aim to deliver a memorable experience as you discover the joys of the bay.
The deck plans featured on this page are representative of the entire fleet and our specialists can explain any subtle differences between each ship in detail.

The golden sails, polished woodwork and refined Asian décor make this fleet an elegant option for exploring Halong Bay. For me, the best feature of each cabin is undoubtedly the views through their large windows.
