Kon Tum is a region inhabited primarily by Montagnards, with 650 villages in the province including the Bahnar and Jarai communities.
Kon Tum, so far, remains fairly unspoilt by tourism and with your guide you can visit a number of villages in the area.
Activities in Kon Tum
The main religion of the Montagnards is Roman Catholic, introduced by the French missionaries who first visited the area in the 19th century, and this is evident in the spectacular old churches and schools. Kon Tum is an ideal base for trekking and canoeing.
'Rong' houses
From here it is also possible to organize an alternative overnight stay in one of the ethnic 'Rong' houses where you can attend an evening of traditional music, dancing and drinking rice wine.
