Itinerary idea
Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
-
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Lusaka.
-
On arrival at Lusaka Airport, you will be met and assisted with your bags to join your domestic flight north to the South Luangwa National Park. Here a guide will be waiting to whisk you into the bush, a journey of about 40 minutes to reach your camp on the banks of the Luangwa river.
-
On safari from Luangwa River Camp. Your stay includes two safari activities per day, so you can take a game drive or a game walk in the South Luangwa National Park.
-
The South Luangwa National Park is considered one of the finest safari destinations in Africa. There is a good chance of seeing lion, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, elephant, hippo, hyena and more.
-
Enjoy another day of game viewing from the camp. In the afternoon you can chill out and enjoy wildlife viewing from the comfort of the pool or the bar, both of which overlook the lagoon.
-
Luangwa River Camp offers full-day excursions to more remote areas of the national park. Perhaps today you might want to go and look at the huge stork colony in the northern sector of the park, or you could visit one of the local villages.
-
This morning, you will leave your lodge and be driven back to Mfuwe Airport, where you will check in for your flight to Lilongwe. Here you will be met and driven through the hills and rolling countryside to Cape Maclear for some relaxation time on the shores of Lake Malawi.
-
There are a number of water sports you can enjoy from your lodge on Lake Malawi, while snorkelling, water-skiing and dingy sailing can all also be arranged. For those keen to be more active, it is also possible to borrow mountain bikes or explore the Cape Maclear area on foot.
-
Today, you can explore the area further on a guided village walk, which will give you a great insight into day-to-day life in Malawi.
-
Another day to enjoy all that Lake Malawi has to offer. Guided hikes along the rocky shoreline provide panoramic views or take to the water in a kayak to explore the coves and nearby beaches.
-
For the final full day of your trip, you might just want to relax on the small beach or by the pool. You can spend time swimming, snorkelling and enjoying the fantastic food on offer.
-
Today you will head back to Lilongwe Airport to meet your onward flights.
-
Arrive home today to complete your journey.
