Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Lusaka.

  • On arrival in Lusaka, you will be met and assisted through the airport. Your driver will then take you through the outskirts of Lusaka and the Zambian countryside to your lodge in the central Kafue National Park.

  • Today you will have a full day on safari from Mukambi Safari Lodge. Enjoy morning and afternoon safari within the national park or a boat trip on the Kafue River.

  • Today, you will leave Mukambi and travel north to Busanga Plains Camp where you will spend the next three nights in this wild and remote part of the park.

  • You will spend your time at Plains Camp enjoying morning and afternoon safaris in open 4x4 vehicles. The morning activity will usually depart just after breakfast, and you will spend about three to four hours exploring the plains, looking for wildlife. You will then return to the camp for lunch and a siesta before heading out again at tea time for an afternoon safari, stopping for sundowners and continuing after dark with a spotter who uses a lamp to find the nocturnal animals.

  • Another full day of safari activities from Plains Camp. The plains are home to exceptional wildlife including zebra, roan, sable, cheetah and the famous tree-climbing lions.

  • Today, you will leave Plains Camp and head south to Musekese Bush Camp, where you will spend the next three nights in this wonderfully authentic bush camp. There are just four chalets here, making for an excellent atmosphere with excellent levels of service.

  • Enjoy a full day of activities from Musekese. Activities at Musekese are focused on walking safaris and boat safaris, the ideal way to explore this remote region. From Musekese, you can also enjoy morning or afternoon safaris and night drives.

  • Enjoy another full day of activities from Musekese. The guiding here is excellent — Phil is a very experienced and knowledgeable walking guide and this is a real highlight of a safari here.

  • You will leave Musekese and travel down to KaingU in the southern part of the Kafue National Park today. The camp is on the banks of the Kafue River and offers some really picturesque views.

  • The full day to explore, or sit back and relax enjoying the surroundings at KaingU. The river ensures that there is a wide array of activities available throughout the day, including morning or afternoon safari, sundowner walks, river cruises, fishing and specialist birding excursions.

  • Another full day to explore, or sit back and relax enjoying the surroundings at KaingU. Alternatively, the lodge also works closely with the local village and has been a long-term supporter of the community, and guests are welcome to visit as part of their stay, which is particularly enjoyable.

  • You will be driven from the lodge back to Lusaka today to meet your onward flights.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
