The Davenport

Dublin, Ireland

The Davenport offers one of the most impressive exteriors of any hotel in Dublin. Originally built as a prayer hall in the 17th century, it has a dramatic neoclassical façade but unfortunately much of the interior was destroyed by fire in the 1990s.

Inside, it is more modern with classic decor in rich tones. There are 115 rooms and two dining options: Lanyon's Restaurant and the President’s Bar, which is more informal.

Service is warm and friendly and its convenient location is a major draw. Located close to Georgian Merrion Square, home to the National Gallery, the hotel is also within easy walking distance of Grafton Street, Trinity College and historic O’Connell Street.

OUR OPINION:

Although in need of updating, this charming hotel has a great central location, friendly staff and offers excellent value for money. One of our favorite aspects of a stay is the ability to walk to most of the key city sights.
