On a quiet river inlet on the outskirts of Kenmare lies Sheen Falls Lodge, a luxurious hotel with the feel of a country manor. The hotel’s grounds reach down to the river, a wonderful place to spot wildlife, and the nearby bay is visited by seals at night.

The hotel has a welcoming feel, with open fireplaces and contemporary local art on the walls. The rooms are spacious with a clean, uncluttered design accented by shades of purple and red. Some have far-reaching views of Kenmare Bay, while others offer a panorama of Sheen Falls. Innovative seasonal dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients are served at The Falls Restaurant. Other amenities include a spa and heated indoor pool.

Rooms

The highlight of the classically elegant rooms is the unparalleled views they offer, each one different. Some overlook Kenmare Bay, while others have extensive views of the falls, but all are equally impressive. Inside the rooms, a calm, neutral palette with touches of purple and red complements the inviting but contemporary decor, while comfy mattresses will welcome you at the end of a long day. All rooms have a TV and DVD player as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. Most of the rooms have a bath with a shower, some rooms just have a walk-in shower.

Location

Sheen Falls Lodge lies just across the water from central Kenmare, giving the hotel a peaceful location while still remaining within easy reach of the town by car. The hotel sits on the banks of the River Sheen close to Kenmare Bay, where seals can often be seen, and is less than ten minutes' drive from the beginning of the scenic Ring of Kerry drive.

Food and drink

The hotel prides itself on its exquisite dining options, from the elegant Falls Restaurant to the more intimate Sun Lounge. The Falls Restaurant serves guests innovative cuisine with a unique twist on traditional Irish fare. Diners can also select from an impressive wine collection. In the Sun Lounge a hearty breakfast is served each morning, while later in the day it makes an ideal spot for afternoon tea.

Families

The hotel arranges daily activities for children such as educational nature walks or treasure hunts. There are three guest rooms which have bunk beds.
