OUR OPINION:
Although in places the rooms have a slightly corporate feel, the communal areas are elegant and stylish and the views from the outdoor terrace make this one of our preferred options in Stratford.
Rooms are classically elegant and furnished, with a combination of antique furniture and contemporary elements with bold fabrics, modern artwork and marble bathrooms. All but the classic rooms have over-sized beds, and deluxe rooms and above feature walk-in showers and roll top bathtubs. All rooms include a full range of modern amenities including a personal drinks fridge, flat-screen TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi.
Location
The Arden has a central location perfect for visiting the RSC opposite or enjoying a relaxing walk along the River Avon. The main shopping area, as well as many of Stratford’s historic Shakespearean sites are just a ten-minute walk away. The picturesque rural villages of the Cotswolds are within easy driving distance and Oxford is just over an hour away by car.
Food and drink
The hotel has a choice of dining venues including its award-winning Waterside Brasserie with an exclusive Champagne Bar and outdoor terrace. The menu focuses on seasonal ingredients sourced from local providers. Afternoon tea is offered in The Lounge. Alternatively, the Club Bar is designed to resemble a typical gentleman’s club and is decorated with portraits and sketches of famous actors in classic performances at the RSC.
