Rooms
You can choose from individual cabins or suites in the main building, but all feature gleaming hardwood walls and rustic furniture, a decor that complements the wilderness surroundings. Each cabin has a full bathroom, dining and living area on the main floor, along with a large double bed. There is also a loft area with two single beds, which make it a great option for families. The cabins offer views of the sunset on the river and the northern lights, if you’re visiting later in the season. The large suites in the main building also offer a range of bedding configurations and are suitable for a variety of visitors.
Location
You are a nice walk or short drive away from Talkeetna, which is very small but has some excellent boutique shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. The quiet riverside setting is really the highlight of the stay here, along with the mountain views and potential wildlife spotting.
Food and drink
Although breakfast isn’t available at the hotel, you are just a short drive from some excellent options in downtown Talkeetna. The Talkeetna Roadhouse is an institution in the town and well worth a visit during your stay. Featured on Man v. Food the portions are, in true American style, on the large side. You can also try the local speciality, sourdough hotcakes. While there are also good options in the town in the evening, each of the cabins at the lodge has barbecue facilities if you want to dine alongside the river.
Accessibility
The main lodge has one room that is fully ADA compliant, located on the first floor for easy access. It has a king-sized bed, a sofa sleeper, private bath, kitchenette and private entrance through French doors.
