Villa Tiboldi

Villa Tiboldi

Piedmont, Italy

In the heart of the Alba vineyards and the Langhe hills, lies the Villa Tiboldi, a handsome hillside retreat in the Piedmontese countryside. This country house hotel is spread across three buildings, an 18th-century manor house, a cleverly-converted barn and a former tenant farmer’s cottage. The hotel is surrounded by fields of vines in every direction giving guests the sense of being right at the heart of the Roero wine country.

Inside, the hotel is elegantly rustic in style with traditional Ligurian elements such as intricate floral detailing on the ceilings throughout. With just ten rooms and such a tranquil location, the hotel has an intimate atmosphere and each of the rooms is individually decorated, some rustic and homely, others more regal or contemporary. The attention to detail is high, and the traditional styling is complemented by all modern conveniences.

The restaurant serves a range of local dishes made using ingredients from the surrounding farms. Guests can dine inside in the bright dining room or outdoors in the garden. A shaded terrace overlooks the outdoor pool and the vineyards beyond, while the owners’ Malvirà Winery is nearby. Guests are invited to tour the winery, learn about its history and sample some of its wines.

OUR OPINION:

We love the charming, rural setting of Villa Tiboldi, which sits in the heart of the Langhe hills. The excellent level of service and care makes it a great base to explore the area.
