Impeccably designed to make the most of its enviable location, high on the escarpment overlooking the Masai Mara, the rooms and communal areas at Angama Mara offer incomparable vistas and the feeling of being on top of the world.
The camp is split into two sections of luxurious tents with a shared central pavilion, complete with a fitness centre and swimming pool, and a separate communal dining and lounge area for each side of the camp. Encased in glass panels so as not to limit the view, each of these main guest areas features an outdoor infinity deck that stretches out over the edge of the escarpment, creating a wonderful place to relax while gazing across the surrounding scenery. Guests can relax inside and enjoy the spectacle of storms rolling across the plains, while on finer days you can recline on one of the many comfortable loungers out on the deck. There's also a small library area, perfect for enjoying the camp’s excellent collection of African books and films or for an intimate private dinner.
Angama Mara is an elegant addition to the range of camps and lodges within the Mara. The attention to detail and design evident throughout the camp makes for a truly special safari experience.

Rooms
Each of Angama Mara’s spacious tented suites are fronted by floor-to-ceiling glass windows looking out over the edge of the escarpment, offering wonderful views of the sunrise over the Mara. All tents have plenty of charging points, their own drinks cabinet and a personal safe, as well as en suite bathrooms complete with a double vanity, bath and separate toilet. The highlight is the private deck at the front of each room, offering an excellent place to enjoy a private dinner or simply relax with a book.
Location
Perched on the edge the Great Rift Valley, on the top of the Oloololo Escarpment and overlooking the Masai Mara, Angama Mara not only offers spectacular views, but is also in a great position for exploring the wildlife-rich Mara Triangle, just 25 minutes away. With its own private access road into the Mara grasslands, guests can enjoy some fantastic game viewing in the heart of the reserve. Situated just on the edge of the park, the escarpment itself is not subject to the same restrictions as within its confines, meaning that walking safaris are also offered by the camp.
Food and drink
You won't be disappointed by the delicious array of food on offer during your stay. The simple but hearty fare is all freshly made with great attention to detail, and dietary requirements are happily catered for. You can enjoy meals served in the main communal dining area, by the pool or even on your own private deck. Picnics in the Mara are also provided, while coffee and tea is delivered each morning with your wake-up call. Afternoon tea is also served every afternoon, complete with cake sandwiches and scones.
Families
The lodge accepts children from aged six years and above. Families can stay in the four sets of interconnecting tents, which allow for easy movement between the rooms and plenty of space to relax in complete privacy.
Facilities and activities
Wi-Fi is available in each of the rooms and in the library area. During your stay, enjoy safari game drives in the Mara Triangle area as well as walking safaris along the Oloololo Escarpment with the camp’s excellent naturalist guides. Dawn hot air balloon flights and visits to a traditional Maasai manyatta (settlement) can also be arranged.
