Kahanda Kanda

Nestled in a hilltop tea estate, approximately 15km (9 miles) from Galle, and just ten minutes from the coast, Kahanda Kanda is a boutique hotel with views of Koggala Lake. There are 12 suites and villas, all unique from each other, furnished with antiques and artwork. Most are in stand-alone buildings and seven villas have their own swimming pools within private gardens.

Traditional and fusion Sri Lankan cuisine is available in the dining pavilion near the lily ponds, or on the terrace which has uninterrupted views of the lush tea hills. There’s an infinity pool for relaxation, yoga, massages, reflexology, aromatherapy and ayurveda are all available too, as well as Hela Wedekama, an ancient tradition of healthcare and healing practises unique to Sri Lanka.

Owner George is often at the property with the Kahanda Kanda team, and the friendly, family dogs. The KK team are happy to recommend and arrange local experiences for guests, from bicycle tours and birdwatching, cookery classes and museum visits to cinnamon pealing and tea factory tours.
