Colca Lodge

Set deep in the Colca Valley and situated on the banks of the River Colca, Colca Lodge has a unique style and it is built entirely of adobe construction. All the rooms are large and have a private bathroom, heating, hot water (obtained by solar energy) and an outdoor terrace with views across the valley. There is also a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a cozy bar and a large room with a fireplace.

All rooms have plenty of llama wool blankets (do not be afraid to ask for more if there is not enough as the canyon can get extremely cold at night). The lodge has no TV or other modern distractions, but it offers a wide range of activities such as horseback riding and small trekking routes, mountain biking, river rafting or visits to some of the pre-Inca ruins in the area.

On the banks of the river itself the lodge has its own thermal baths in stone pools which are fed by volcanic hot springs and were built in harmony with the environment, the perfect place to relax after exploring the canyon.

      Climb Condor's Cross

Condor’s Cross is situated on top of one of the steepest sides of the Colca Canyon. It is in these forested slopes that the families of condors nest, and you are more than likely to see several take to the air and glide on the thermals.
