Hotel Daniela offers a traditional Alpine experience in a Swiss-chalet-style hotel conveniently located in Zermatt. The outside of the building is unassuming, with warm wooden staircases and balconies overflowing with flowers. Inside the lobby, you’ll find a log fire, comfy chairs covered in red wool cushions and blankets made from the fleece of the hotel’s own sheep.
Combining Alpine design notes like timber-frame ceilings and stone accent walls with modern amenities like soaking tubs and flat-screen TVs, the rooms are focused on comfort.
The hotel is part of a collection of three hotels and three restaurants called Tradition Julen, run by a single family who are passionate about tradition, sustainability and the outdoors. In addition to the properties, they farm a flock of blacknose sheep and a small herd of cows, which you can visit if you wish.
Access to the Gädi Spa, with its night-sky lighting and central fireplace, is included in your stay. Two other spas and a swimming pool are available at the other hotels.
Hotel Daniela only serves breakfast, but its sister restaurants offer dining at a discounted rate for guests, and all are in easy walking distance in Zermatt, which is itself car-free.
The Daniela offers an authentic Swiss atmosphere, with friendly service and a relaxed approach. We love the use of natural wood, the comfortable atmosphere and having sheep right outside the hotel.

All rooms offer Wi-Fi, multimedia TV, minibars, balconies, international plug sockets and espresso machines. While the rooms have no air conditioning, it isn’t needed given the mountain temperatures.
