Designed primarily with families in mind, the Martinhal suites in Lisbon’s historic Chiado district are set in a conveniently located 19th-century townhouse. The building is divided into apartments with an attractive blend of modern style and family-friendly amenities. If you are visiting with young children, the hotel offers an excellent kids' club and baby concierge service where you can request any specific equipment you may need during your stay. There are also video games and DVD players on hand for older children.
The apartments are all spacious and furnished to a high standard and each boasts a fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge, stove, dishwasher and washing machine. They can be taken as studio, one or two-bedroom combinations with each one designed to feel more like a comfortable family home than a hotel. While the apartments may have been designed with children in mind, each space has been carefully tailored to provide a high level of style and comfort and all are extremely well soundproofed so you won’t be disturbed by other families during your stay.
Remarkably well thought through, we can’t think of anywhere better in Lisbon to stay if you are visiting with children.

Rooms
Each apartment has been carefully styled to ensure maximum levels of comfort as well as being as child-friendly as possible. Soft fabrics and furnishings have been picked to ensure a safe and comfortable environment with a mix of textures, bright accents and patterns scattered among the otherwise neutral tones. Depending on the age and make up of your party, you can choose between various apartment layouts: there are options with bunk beds, separate double bedrooms, pull-out sofa beds and, of course, cots and bassinets are available on request. All apartments have TV, Wi-Fi and air conditioning as standard.
Location
Located in the heart of the Chiado area of Lisbon, the apartments are ideally located for exploring the city on foot. On the doorstep you’ll find a host of stylish restaurants and boutiques, while a short walk of around five minutes will bring you into the central Baixa area. The Bairro Alto district can be reached in around ten minutes on foot.
Food and drink
Breakfast is served each morning in the ground floor café and is designed to be as family friendly as the rest of the hotel, with optional use of a supervised kids’ corner. The café serves a range of light snacks during the day until around 7pm, though room service is available until 11pm. For those wishing to explore, there are many interesting restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel also offers an evening childcare service between 6pm and 10pm if you wish to go out and dine on your own.
Families
With regards to family friendly facilities, the hotel has thought of everything you might need and more. The excellent kids' club is available for children of 6 months to 14 years with well qualified staff offering everything from craft activities to pajama parties. Older children can take advantage of Xboxes and DVDs. All rooms are equipped with fridges and stoves as well as dishwashers and washing machines which makes it easier to cater for fussy eaters and keep up the supply of clean clothes. All the rooms are also very well soundproofed so you don't need to be worried about your children irritating other guests or being disturbed by other families during your stay.
